Springtail (Seira species)
Springtails are small arthropods measuring 1 – 5mm (depending on species). They are an excellent (and often essential) food for young and\or small frogs and an essential component in a healthy biologically active vivarium consuming any fungus or mold often before it’s visible. They will breed in the vivarium if provided with ideal conditions (damp, warm and something decaying to consume).
This species is the commonly available tropical springtail that breeds rapidly but is smaller than the less common elongated Folsomia candida temperate species.
